Hijab with a little hair showing?

    Hello all!!

Well my main question is, personally can you call yourself Mutahajiba [the girl wearing hijab] while still showing hair? Well, because, I do show a bit of hair (like, from infront), but I still consider myself muthajiba and I wonder if that is allowed to other girls around here.

Hmm To me When i used to show a little of my hair i didn't call my self mutahjeba i was just wearing hijab but its been two year now which i've become completely muthjeba and i don't show off my hair at all here yes i consider my self mutahjeba cuz hijab is about to cover your all hair without showing anything...
but after all it depends on how every single girl see her self but that was just my opinion n what i believe...

some weeks ago a girl at the mosque called me after prayer advising me to cover well because is not good [am not good in folding and I have always some hair out] while out of prayer is ok
To stay on the safe side I try to cover them all always

Tinta: To me this is what I believe and its only ME.

If you are a person that do not cover fully your hair, and tend to show a lil outside "which I never understand and nor will I ever do" than to me that is not someone who is categorized as Mutahajeba.

I would probably call that person "Mutahasheema". However, when I was not Mutahajeeba, I never ever used to wear the Hijab while my hair was showing. Meaning its either I cover my whole head, or I just don't cover at all.

Now, this is exactly where many ppl go wrong, and NON-Muslim Misunderstand us Muslims.

My question to do would be this:

DO you believe that you have to fully cover your hair? and only your hand and face should be the only part showing?!

Just to clerifiy something on those above post. Hijab in Islam not only does it mean for one to cover up the hair, but as well its to do with the woman's clothing as well, a hijab for her body, where no curves to show from the cloth that she is wearing etc.. .

Is this thread because of Lacrymosa and Mimi's argument?

anyways, i dont consider who shows little hair as mutahajiba.
A mutahajiba should not show any hair at all. Because in the Qura'an it was mentioned that "كل شعرة جمرة"

I see my omani girls not committed to covering all hair. They dont make sure its covered well. They wear see-through scraves. Sometimes their heads are covered well but they let their necks or even part of their chests uncovered. They adjust their scarves in front of men. etc

Covering hair is more like a tradition to them. There is no strong belief.

That is not right at all MA! I am not sure from where you got that idea, please read this:

    "
O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (Quran 33:59)

    Hadith - Bukhari 6:282

'Aisha (ra) used to say: "When (the Verse): 'They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms,' was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces.
And that is just 1 verse!

Ok bring us the one (hadith) that says what is allowed etc to show ... and he points to face and hands.

Thats about the close as you'll get to SAYING to cover hair.

But it's NOT in Quran for sure.

Still so interested, I wish more Omani men would be interested in such subjects.. but no point of wishing.

And say to the faithful women to lower their gazes, and to guard their private parts, and not to display their adornment except what is apparent of it, and to extend their headcoverings (khimars) to cover their bosoms (jaybs), and not to display their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband's fathers, or their sons, or their husband's sons, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their womenfolk, or what their right hands rule (slaves), or the followers from the men who do not feel sexual desire, or the small children to whom the nakedness of women is not apparent, and not to strike their feet (on the ground) so as to make known what they hide of their adornments. And turn in repentance to Allah together, O you the faithful, in order that you are successful (24:31)

Allah also says:“{…And not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils all over their bodies, and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their husband’s fathers, their sons, their husband’s sons, their brothers or their brother’s sons or their sister’s sons, or their women or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex}.(24:30)

Imam Abu'l-Fida ibn Kathir: "Khumur is the plural of khimar which means something that covers, and is what is used to cover the head. This is what is known among the people as a khimar."

Shaykh Muhammad Nasiruddin Albani: "The word khimaar linguistically means only a head covering. Whenever it is mentioned in general terms, this is what is intended."

    And Surah 33... Al-Ahzab::

    (bismillah)

"O Prophet! Say to your wives and daughters and the believing women that they draw their outer garments close to them; so it is more proper that they may be known and not hurt. God is All forgiving, All-compassionate. Now, if the hypocrites do not give over and those in whose hearts there is a sickness and they make commotion in the city, We shall assuredly set you against them and then they will be your neighbors there only for a little while." No, this is not true. Originally the word Khimar refers to a piece of cloth that covers any part of your body in general, but it started to have a different meaning with Muslims' common beliefs on hair covering, I believe.
